REG Presley’s funeral will be on Thursday, February 14 at Basingstoke Crematorium.

Fans are expected to turn out in force to pay their last respects to The Troggs lead singer and sixties icon who never forgot his Hampshire roots.

Valentine’s Day is a fitting day to say farewell to the singer/songwriter who composed one of the most r o m a n t i c songs in pop history, Love Is All Around.

The cover version of the 1967 hit became a number one for Wet Wet Wet and featured on the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Andover born Presley, who was 71, founded The Troggs in the early sixties and only stopped touring in 2012 after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He died on Monday.
