A HAMPSHIRE store brought the sunshine in a charity drive.
Staff at the Co-operative in Hedge End dressed in yellow as part of the Big Yellow Weekend, a region-wide event to raise cash for the retailer’s new charity of the year, the Carers Trust.
The team raised almost £600 for the charity, inviting shoppers to take part in a raffle for a luxury hamper and offering tastings from the store’s Truly Irresistible range throughout the weekend.
Staff already have other events planned such as car washes, dress-up days and competitions.
The store, in Fore Street, was one of the Co-operative’s 600 branches that were challenged to fundraise for the new charity, which provides breaks, information and advice for young people having to care for someone.
