Police appeal after robbery
Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed in Hampshire.
The 22-year-old victim was walking along Wellesley Road towards the junction with Chestnut Avenue, Andover.
As he was walking he was approached from behind by at least two men who hit him in the face and forced him to the ground. They then removed the victim’s wallet and cash from his trousers.
The offenders, one of which was described as wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, then made off on foot.
The victim sustained an injury to his eye.
The crime happened some time between 3.40am and 4.20am on February 3,
Detective Constable Paul Barry, said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward and speak to us. If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, February 3 in the Wellesley Road area, please get in touch and help us with our inquiries.”
