POLICE are hunting raiders who got away with two tonnes of lead from a Test Valley church roof.
Detectives say that the lead worth around £2,500 was stripped from St Andrew’s Church in Nether Wallop sometime on Friday night.
Stockbridge-based PC Simon Beecroft, said: “The offenders drove a vehicle along the path up to the front of the church and must have spent sometime removing the lead.”
PC Beechcroft believes a van or lorry was used to remove the lead from the scene. Contact PC Beechcroft on 101.
