RESIDENTS can get help taking control of their finances at their council’s headquarters.

Fareham Community Savers will be holding a weekly drop-in advice session at Fareham Borough Council’s civic offices.

The organisation, which is a local arm of Hampshire Credit Union, will be housed at Booth A in the main reception.

The project is funded by Fareham Borough Council, in partnership with First Wessex and the Southern Cooperative – they have agreed to fund the project for up to five years.

With the benefit changes that are taking place from April, I would urge people to get financial advice as a priority. There are an awful lot of people that are going to be hit extremely hard and need to start planning immediately.
