A man has been left with serious face injuries after a fight in a social club in Eastleigh.

The argument happened in the bar of the Loco Engineers Club in Southampton Road on Tuesday evening.

One man was taken to hospital, after allegedly being hit in the face with a glass.

Another man suffered minor injuries.

A 46 year-old man from Eastleigh has been formally cautioned by police for common assault.

A 47-year-old man from Rownhams was charged with assault causing Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).

He has been released on bail and will appear at Southampton Magistratates Court on Wednesday, March 13.

this is why social clubs should be banned, they are just a hang out for rough common people to get drunk and cause trouble.

How people are able to comment with drivel like this is beyond me. Social clubs are a valuable part of any community and those that frequent do so for cheap drinks, interaction and a release in a comfortable environment.

The local pub is now dead and the social club gives one last outlet where people can feel safe in an environment that allows all ages.

Violence is a rarity within them four walls, and you are likely to find more violence in the littern tree than you would at socials.

This incident was unfortunate and should have been avoided but to state that it was expected is complete ignorance.

And before you judge me....I am not a member of the social club.

Please think before posting comments rather than assume your clever by posting something pointless.
