POLICE are hunting vandals who have targeted more than 40 garden walls in Southampton.

Operation Hadrian aims to find those responsible for damaging walls in the Highfield and Bassett areas.

Police suspect a group of youngsters riding small stunt BMX bikes are behind the vandalism, which has been carried out in the evening and includes pushing over walls and damaging cars.

Now police want to hear from anyone who has not yet reported any damage.

Police are also carrying out leaflet drops to houses in Highfield and Bassett to encourage them to report anything they see and also hear from anyone who knows who might be responsible.

Portswood Inspector Sharman Wicks said: “Someone must know who is doing this, either because they have seen them or because they have heard some boasting.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Portswood on 101, quoting Operation Hadrian.
