Put a smile on faces of sick children

HAMPSHIRE residents are being urged to help the Giggle Doctors bring smiles to the faces of poorly youngsters in hospital.

Chores for Chuckles is being launched by the Theodora Trust to bring laughter and happiness to children during their treatment at Southampton General Hospital.

They want as many people as possible to take part in a week of chores to raise money to pay for Giggle Doctors to visit children’s hospital wards and entertain them.

The aim is to get everyone doing chores between May 13 and 19.

Just £20 can provide bubbles for 1,800 children and £175 can support a whole afternoon’s Giggle Doctor visit for 40 children in hospital.

Sarika Brown, executive director of the charity which specially trains Giggle Doctors, said: “This is the first year we’re running Chores for Chuckles. It’s a fantastic week as it allows absolutely everyone to get involved, with the added incentive of completing the housework too.”
