DEFENCE secretary Philip Hammond visited a Hampshire electronics company to see for himself the latest technology available to the UK’s frontline soldiers.
He toured Roke Manor Research at Awbridge and was shown some of the latest hitech equipment the company has provided for servicemen and women on the battlefield.
During his visit, Mr Hammond was briefed on a number of innovative product solutions and advanced technologies that have been developed at Roke and are now in operational use, protecting both soldiers on active service and the general public.
Roke’s managing director Stephen Grinham, who took Mr Hammond on a tour of the site, said: “We were delighted to introduce Mr Hammond to some of the ground-breaking technologies and product solutions being developed at Roke to protect and enhance people’s lives.”
