Student stabbings: Man remanded in custody Student stabbings: Man remanded in custody

A MAN has been remanded in custody to appear before a judge in connection with the alleged stabbing of two Southampton students.

Hamza Himdy, 20, appeared before the city magistrates facing two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one of possessing an offensive weapon.

Himdy, who comes from Luton, was remanded to appear at a plea and case management hearing at the city’s Crown Court on March 18.

The allegations follow an incident at Southampton Solent University’s Sir Sidney Kimber halls of residence, in which two students, aged 18 and 23, suffered injuries and had to be taken to the General Hospital by paramedics.

One sustained only superficial injuries and was discharged after treatment but the other had to undergo an operation for life-threatening injuries.

Why is that racist sounds like a clear observation to me.

It's people like you that is what's wrong with this country.

Take a look at any of the crime stories on this website - most of them will have been committed by people with British sounding names. Do you draw a link between name and criminality then? I expect not. To make something of someone's name (and therefore ethnic origin) when they have committed a crime is an obvious sign of racial prejudice.

The only thing wrong with this country is the profusion of people of low intellect with backwards views like yourself.

Do we know of a motive? Or was it a random attack?

How do you describe a British sounding name?

I have to agree with kingnotail.

Singh, Cameron, Murphy, Williams. We are a multiracial nation and something I am proud of, although the Scottish bit of my ancestry does cringe a bit a Cameron
