TIME IS running out to get tickets for the charity variety show that aims to make life better for the city’s heart patients.
Wessex Heartbeat’s HIGH 5 Appeal is hosting a one-off stage extravaganza with help from youngsters across Hampshire, who will be taking to the stage at Southampton’s Mayflower theatre.
The HIGH 5 Variety Show on March 10 will see performances from E Minor Pop Academy, the SJ Academy of Dance and pupils from schools across the county help the appeal reach its £500,000 target.
The Daily Echo-backed appeal needs the money to build a specialist heart unit at Southampton General Hospital for young people who currently have no place to call their own, going straight to the adult wards when they reach 16.
Alison Farrell, chief executive of the charity, said: “It’s a fantastic way to help a cause that touches the 7,000 people born with heart conditions who are treated here every year.”
