SCENE OF CRIME: Liverpool Street in Southampton.
THREE masked men burst into a Southampton home and demanded cash in a violent robbery.
A police hunt has been launched for the raiders, who struck in the middle of the afternoon in the city centre.
Officers said the robbers threatened the three men in the house with weapons, but last night would not reveal what they were.
The trio burst in through the back of the semi-detached property in Liverpool Street. They confronted the occupants before demanding cash and stealing electrical goods.
The men, who all had their hoods up, entered the house and said “Where’s the money?” before attacking the people inside, searching the premises and leaving by the front door.
The incident, which took place on Saturday between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, left the victims – a 24-year-old, a 31-year-old and a 33-year-old – with superficial injuries.
The robbers took a Toshiba stereo worth £100 and a black mobile phone with a plastic white cover, worth £400.
All the three offenders were described as being about 25 years old. The first man was white, 5ft 11in, of large build, and wore blue jeans, black trainers and a hoodie under a black jacket.
The second was white, 5ft 4in and slim, while the third man was mixed race, of muscular build, with slight stubble.
Anyone with information should call DC Lee Murden on 101.

The whole area between Chapel & Portswood could do with more frequent foot patrols tbh. I used to work round there, and the only area of Southampton I found more intimidating was Thornhill. Shirley seems to get more bad press on here, but in contrast I've found it relatively friendly and chilled.

I've actually found Southampton to be far worse for random and unprovoked violence than anywhere in London was. London has plenty of violence, but it always felt like you'd be okay if you weren't a 'part' of it. In Southampton, I think there's a far bigger risk of bored drunk young men singling you out at random.

So, either the robbers were there for 2 hours
Or the "victims" were so stoned, they didn't know what time it was!
Or it didn't happen at all!
