A HOUSING development in Southampton has been shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Housing's Development of the Year UK Housing Award.
Stoneham Green, Stoneham Cemetery Road, Southampton, was the first development in the city to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 true zero carbon status, as all CO2 emissions were offset on site.
Radian won the same award last year for its Sunfield Close development in Andover. The company aimed to make the 11 homes at Stoneham Green, near Southampton Airport, sustainable and ecological.
Each of the homes, which are on the rental market, has a touch screen energy management system so that residents can monitor the amount of energy they use to help them save money on bills.
The winners of the Housing Awards will be announced on April 16.
