Search called off for Ross Haughey

Daily Echo: Ross Haughey Ross Haughey

THE search for a missing Hampshire teenager has been called off for the evening due to the weather and light conditions.

Ross Haughey has not been seen since Sunday lunchtime and fears are growing for his welfare.

Searches have been taking place all day in the Frogham area of the New Forest, but these have now been suspended until tomorrow morning.

As the New Forest is nearby and a great place for a walk, I did a couple of hours walk this afternoon, but chose Fritham which is a little further afield than the search area.

I would encourage as many as possible to pick an area and go for a walk in the gorgeous countryside.

Let's hope this young man turns up safe. Don't forget all those turning up to help search, make sure you keep yourself safe too, I noticed lots of Teens saying they are going out this evening, make sure your mobile is fully charged and keep to safe tracks.

Have you been to the area? It's a massive Bog, the rain has saturated the area, making most places unwalkable even in daylight.

We don't need to have more people go missing. But in fairness, although the official search has been called off, many locals are still searching unofficially.

i have not been there since last summer, i didnt realise the area was that bad. lets hope the locals stay safe trying to find him and lets hope he turns up safe. i didnt mean to offend in the first comment. i assumed they could do better.
