THE desperate hunt for a missing teenager was due to resume this morning.

Dozens of search and rescue volunteers combined with local residents are expected to return to the New Forest to help look for 17-year-old Ross Haughey.

It's been three days since the A-Level student was last seen, when he left his family home in the Frogham area to go for a walk. It was something he is used to doing, as an experienced walker and runner who knew the paths and tracks well.

But the alarm was raised when he failed to return home on Sunday evening by his parents Brian and Penelope.

Yesterday vast searches of the forest, stretching from Fritham to the outskirts of Bramshaw, were underway with Hantsar (Hampshire search and rescue) volunteers and specialist police teams.

Those searches will resume this morning, coordinated by police search adviser, PCMike Spencer, from Abbotswell car park in the village.

He said members of the public wanting to help are most welcome - but they must arrive suitably dressed, be carrying food and water and a mobile phone and must also know the area well.
