Hampshire sailor Nick Bubb has returned home to his family today, after completing a gruelling voyage in the Antarctic.
Nick, 33, was part of an intrepid six-man team that followed in the footsteps of Ernest Shackleton, travelling 800-miles in freezing conditions.
Today Nick, who had to pull out of the expedition early due to trench foot, returned to his Lymington home to be reunited with his wife Sophie.
The couple have not seen each other since Boxing Day, when Nick left to secure his place in the annals of Antarctic history.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Echo, Nick told how his team came close to tragedy during the epic journey.
