5:30am Thursday 28th February 2013 in News By Echo Reporter
THE UK’s only cycling series especially for women will return to the New Forest this year.
The Cycletta series, which will take place at Beaulieu on October 13, is backed by Olympian Victoria Pendleton and raises vital funds for official charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cycletta New Forest is one of seven locations announced for the 2013 series, and is open to women of all ages and abilities.
It includes different distances starting from 20km including a Classic distance of 40km and a Challenge distance of 52-82km.
Girls aged between 12 and 16 can also take part when accompanied by an adult, and there will be a Scootathlon taking place on the same day for children aged four to eight, who can scoot, bike and run.

On second thoughts the sight of men in silly tight cycling lycra will probably make the ladies laugh so much they will fall off their cycles!
