Teen gang targets bikes

A GANG of teenagers are targeting garden sheds and garages in Winchester in the early hours looking for bikes, police believe.

The thieves are thought to have struck 30 times this year, a public meeting heard.

Police have reiterated their bike safety advice after there were three thefts in Winchester last weekend.

Sgt Matt Fancett said homes in the Greenhill Road area, Fulflood, were burgled on Sunday, and that it was the first incident in Fulflood as the burglars had previously targeted St Cross, Stanmore and Abbotts Barton.

Police are holding a bicycle safety event at Winchester Discovery Centre, Jewry Street, on March 9.
