2:41pm Saturday 2nd March 2013 in News
IT IS a scheme which will help Southampton students and vulnerable residents feel safer at night.
Southampton Solent University’s students’ union has launched a “Take a Mate”
campaign, encouraging people to avoid walking through the city alone at night by taking a friend with them.
The campaign is also piloting ‘walking bus service’ where vulnerable people can be walked to their destination by a group of three trained and paid staff who work between the hours of 11pm and 4am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
