Man sits in bath of beans for Hampshire hospice
3:53pm Sunday 3rd March 2013 in News By Ed Stilliard, Senior Reporter
A MAN from Southampton sat in a bath of baked beans for 12 hours on Sunday to raise hundreds of pounds for a worthy cause.
Kevin Kearslake had beans poured on his head while he sat in the bath for Hampshire’s Naomi House hospice while he charged punters at the Osborne Pub in Shirley £1 for the privilege.
For his marathon challenge the 48-year old managed to raise more than £650 for the centre which cares for children with life-limiting conditions.
“I was a bit tired by the end of it but everybody was fantastic. I was a bit overwhelmed by it all but it was good.
“You can never be sure how many people are going to turn up and how many are going to take part so even I’d raised £300 or £400 I would have been pleased,” he said.
