A GROUP of Southampton athletes laced up their running shoes to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The team of four women collected £2,500 for Alzheimer’s Research UK, in honour of family members who have suffered with the condition.

Friends Rebecca Mulley, 33, Hannah Coombs, 32, Sarah Kingston, 28 and Ursula Puentener, 35, who called themselves the Southampton Memory Joggers, took part in a host of running events throughout 2012.

Their calendar of events included the Clarendon Marathon from Salisbury to Winchester, in which their relay team was the first female squad to finish. To help boost their total, visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/memoryjoggers.
