Southampton students get call-up for marine technology training

HAMPSHIRE youngsters are being urged to sign up for a Marine Technology course this summer.
Educational charity The Smallpiece Trust is running the series of workshops from July 9 to July 12 at the University of Southampton.
Students who are aged 13 or 14 years of age and in school Year 9 are eligible to apply.
The four-day course, which is taught by experienced marine professionals, will involve a series of design-and-build projects, covering the areas of naval architecture, ship design and off-shore construction.
Places on the course, which cost £175, are handed out on a first-come first-served basis.
