Woman burgled while at funeral
AN elderly woman returned from a funeral to find her holiday savings and jewellery belonging to her late husband and father had been stolen.
The 75-year-old also found her engagement and wedding rings were taken and money boxes belonging to her grandchildren had been emptied.
She then discovered her neighbour, in Southampton city centre, had also been targeted although it is unclear whether anything was taken.
Detective Constable Sarah Fox said: “The victim has been left distressed and upset by this burglary especially as they took jewellery that was of great sentimental value to her and even stole from the moneyboxes of her grandchildren.
“I'd appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact me. I'd also like to hear from anyone who thinks they know where the stolen jewellery or cash may be.”
The incident happened on Friday, March 1, sometime between 1pm and 4.30pm.
Anyone with information can call Detective Constable Fox at Shirley Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I'm sure the excuse will be a drug issue which they have tackled since being arrested (if they get caught) then still probably a 1 year jail term and out in 3 months. I hear these scummy stories on here all the time. These poor people shouldn't have to go through this.
Is there any further details as to where exactly it happened.
