Boris the cat makes car engine purr!

WHEN their car engine carried on purring after they had parked it in their garage, Lucy and Andrew Meyrick knew there was something wrong.

To their amazement they found a cat under the bonnet of their Audi A3.

The stowaway had crept into the car’s engine while the couple were visiting friends in Winchester and survived a 30- minute, 18-mile journey down the M3 and M27 to Old Bursledon.

Owner Ross Brimfield, 34, was shocked to get a phone call the next morning from Lucy and Andrew, who found his number on Boris’s collar.

Ross, of Upper Brook Street, Winchester, said: “I don’t know if he is an adrenaline junkie or just an absolute idiot.

He was a nervous wreck but there’s not a scratch on him.”

Lucy, 36, said: “We were driving for half an hour so he must have been really gripping on.”
