Saints striker Rickie Lambert celebrates promotion with fans
SAINTS’ elevation to the cash-rich Premier League is reflected in the latest financial figures released by the club.
The club made a net profit of just under £1m in their first six months back in the top flight, while revenue, excluding player trading, increased to £33.1m, up from £11.6m.
Saints' shareholder, late owner Markus Liebherr and subsequently his estate, invested £38m since taking over the club in 2009, with that money now having been converted into equity.
Player wages accounted for 59 per cent of turnover in the first six months of the Premier League, down from 102 per cent in the 2011/12 season.
Executive chairman Nicola Cortese paid out over £5m in player and staff bonuses on promotion to the Premier League.

figures sound sound ( see what I did there ) , revenue sounds a tad poor though, with a decent drive to get in more corporate that figure should increase significantly, hopefully if we stay up NC may finally bring in someone to start exploring the brand potential..... very tough job so head hunting required but hopefully not beyond his ability....

So, we bought promotion to the Premier League for £38 million, knowing that even if the worst happens and we get relegated we get £60 million of parachute payments. And our wage bill was 102% of turnover, grossly in excess of UEFA guidelines and the new "Fair Play" regulations. To me this seems the economics of the madhouse, the same ideas that caused the downfall of our neighbours along the M27. Am I the only lifelong supporter on here who is worried?
