Mike Thornton to speak in Parliament

New Eastleigh MP to make first speech New Eastleigh MP to make first speech

NEW Eastleigh MP Mike Thornton is to make his maiden speech in Parliament on Monday.

Mr Thornton, who swept to victory in the by-election just over a week ago with 13,342 votes, a majority of 1,771 over UKIP’s Diane James, has already attended his first Prime Minister’s Questions session earlier this week.

He said that the speech, which is usually non-political and lasts less than ten minutes, normally focuses on the MP’s constituency and gives an indication of what they feel is important to them.

Maybe Mr thornton's speech to the house will be to apologise to them for representing a bunch of conniving weaseling back-stabbing Lib-Dem bunch of morons who couldn't be trusted to help a child cross the road. But then again perhaps that would be addressed to the wrong audience as most of them would have to make the same addmission if they ever spoke honestly.

As a resident of Eastleigh the main thing one notices bout the LibDems is that they have worked much harder than any of the other parties and they have done that over decades. They always keep everyone in touch with regular leaflets. Unlike other parties, they do not simply pop up at elections.
Mike Thornton is an intelligent, thoughtful and pragmatic person who will work hard for all the people of the constituency, not simply those who voted for him.

Hopefully his speech will be to oppose the 'Bedroom Tax' that will put thousands of vulnerable people below the poverty line. Come to a protest near you soon. Many groups have been formed on Facebook. The more the better.

.. oh geoff51, stop shouting and relax.

It's funny; even if the other day was at your expense - but you can take it, can't you?

I will continue calling you a troll until you actually manage to make an intelligent post without insulting the poster.
If you are incapable of this try the Jeremy Kyle Show with the rest of humanities dregs

Perhaps he should say one of the following.
1 I promise not to get other people to take my speeding points.
2 I promise not to misuse oranges.
3 I resign, because secretly the election was won by the TUSC, sorry the Elvis loves pets party!
