Hampshire man, 73, charged with attempted murder of 94-year-old

A PENSIONER appeared in court this morning charged with the attempted murder of a 94-year-old woman.
Ronald Barham, aged 73 and from Three Acre Drive in Barton-on-Sea, appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court.
He is accused of the attempted murder of Elsie Barham at the Quaker House Residential Home in Barton Court Road, New Milton on March 7.
Dressed in a blue shirt and trousers, he stood in the dock and spoke only to confirm his name and address.
At a brief hearing this morning, his barrister Jonathan Simpson said his client had mental health issues.
The father-of-two was remanded in custody until he appears at Winchester Crown Court on April 4
