Controlled explosion cariied out at Hampshire household waste recycling centre
12:45pm Sunday 10th March 2013 in News
A Hampshire recycling centre has been closed today after army experts were called in to carry out a controlled explosion on a "suspicious item".
Police were initally called to the scene just after 9am this morning after employees found the unidentified object in a recycling bin.
Explosive experts from the army were then drafted in to the household waste recycling centre in Bedford Road, Petersfield, to carry out the explosion.
The site will remain closed for the rest of the day while detectives try to establish where the suspicious item came from and how it ended up in the recycling bin.
Police moved to reassure the public that there is no danger to the nearby residents.

'unidentified object'
'controlled explosion'
'Police moved to reassure the public that there is no danger to the nearby residents'
So if I have this correct. There is a suspicious item which is maybe suspicious because it can't be identified and now its been blown up. However even though its suspicious and can't be identified and therefore has to be blown up its not any danger.
