PM ‘must fulfil global aid pledge’ says Whitehead PM ‘must fulfil global aid pledge’ says Whitehead

A Southampton MP has called on the Prime Minister to fulfil his pledge to help the world’s poorest people.

Alan Whitehead, Labour MP for Southampton Test, has called on David Cameron to fulfil his promise to spend 0.7 per cent of gross national income (GNI) on international aid and to put this commitment in law – a commitment made by all three main political parties before the last general election in 2010.

The coalition agreement between the Tories and Lib Dems reiterated this pledge yet both parties are still to fulfil their promise.

Mr Whitehead, let us sort our own backyard first instead of sending money abroad. Poorest people, you are having a laugh. I dont pay my taxes so they can be sent to there chosen land by any goverment. India does not need the money, just go round the country, there is gold and silver everywhere. All the money will end up in the countries goverment for big handouts. Just one last thing Whitehead, what happened to all that money BAND AID made?

Thats ok then the money will stay in this country, what happened to looking after number one then, half of the problems in the third world countries is the fact they haven't learnt to keep it in their trousers for years we have been sending money abroad and it makes very little difference they still keep churning out kids and then complain they are starving. Lets hang on to our money we have our own problems to sort out.
