ANTISOCIAL behaviour in Bishop’s Waltham is down by 70 per cent, police say.

PC Simon Paulls told more than 150 residents at Bishop’s Waltham’s annual parish meeting that there were 165 fewer reported incidents in 2012 compared to 2011.

This was despite cuts that meant the closure of the town police station’s front office and the decision to leave a police community support officer post vacant.

PC Paulls said rowdy behaviour from teenagers at a local bus stop had been an issue, but the establishment of the youth club had greatly reduced this problem.

He also reported a 56 per cent drop in burglaries, or 18 fewer incidents year on year, and a 16 per cent fall in road crashes.
