Chance for groups to grab slice of community cash

Community groups on a Southampton estate have the chance to get their hands on a cash goldmine.
The Co-operative is dishing out thousands of pounds to groups in Thornhill, as part of the Your Community Vote scheme.
Groups which wish to apply for a slice of the funding should apply to the group before the deadline of March 29. Later a decision will be made on where the money should go and the cash handed over to residents.
Co-operative shoppers will be able to vote for their preferred group throughout May, at stores in Hinkler Road, Thornhill Park Road, Warburton Road and at Funeralcare in Butts Road, Sholing.
To apply for funding from the Your Community Vote project, collect an application form from one of the stores, or call 01884 266 892. Nominated groups will be notified by April 26, ahead of the public vote in May.
