£850,000 to expand care home
A SOUTHAMPTON care home operator has secured an £850,000 finance package to expand his residential care home.
Nick Hawkins is extending his Sunnycroft home from 19 to 32 beds, providing much needed capacity for new residents and creating five new permanent jobs.
The funding for the home – which specialises in non-nursing dementia care and offers a day care service – will allow it to expand on to the adjoining land on Moorgreen Road.
Work is due to start this month, for completion in the autumn.
Mr Hawkins said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to expand Sunnycroft and cannot wait to see the new building take shape. The additional accommodation will greatly enhance our facilities and ease pressure on our waiting list.
“I have been impressed with the team at Santander – they are specialists in the care sector who have understood the business and its ambitions.”
Martin Phillips, relationship director for Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We are delighted to be able to support local businesses like this to continue to develop, and look forward to more opportunities to develop our relationship with Nick in the future.”
