Bark in the Park brings in £1,200 for hospice
DOG lovers came together to raise funds for sick children.
Naomi House’s annual Bark in the Park event saw 260 people, including many families, take part in a 2km dog walk around Manor Farm Country Park.
The dog-themed family fun day also offered visitors a chance to test their dogs’ skills by taking part in an agility show or to enter their pooch into the novelty dog show and fancy dress contest.
Ten categories included waggiest tail, the dog the judges would most like to take home and the best six legs – where the owners also stepped into the judging ring with their pet.
There were around 15 stalls selling dog-related goodies and traditional fundraising games with a canine twist, such as a doggy dip and guess how many dog biscuits in the jar.
The event raised £1,200 for the Winchester-based Naomi House children’s hospice, which offers care to children and young adults with life-limiting conditions.
