OLD Basing and Lychpit residents will see a rise in their council tax after the parish council opted to increase its precept for the first time in three years.
Old Basing Parish Council increased tax by two per cent. This means B and D properties in the area will pay £41.30 on top of the annual bill that includes payments to Hampshire County Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The parish has the second highest total precept in Basingstoke and Deane of £127,158, with Tadley topping the list of 38 parishes at £186,466.
