THE University of Winchester is to award a further £10,000 in scholarships this year.

The money will benefit students applying for entry in 2013 across a range of subjects.

Any students applying for degrees in theology, religion and ethics; modern liberal arts; and history, civilisations and beliefs, can be considered for one of ten awards worth £1,000 each.

The awards will be allocated to the first 10 students who meet the academic requirements and confirm their places to study at the university.

Vice-chancellor Professor Joy Carter said: “Winchester believes in rewarding excellence and these awards will add to an already burgeoning range of support initiatives on offer to both existing and prospective students.”

The university said the subjects chosen reflect the importance of its Christian foundation.
