A SOUTHAMPTON man made a brief appearance in court accused of starting a fire in a city council owned flat where he was living.

Daniel Morgan, 23, of Paignton Road, denied arson when reckless as whether the life of another would be endangered, but admitted the lesser charge of arson.

He was further remanded in custody.
