Bedfords, in Southampton
A Southampton man suffered serious head injuries and needed multiple stitches after being glassed at a city centre bar.
A 22-year-old required 17 stitches after he was involved in a brawl at Bedfords Bar and cafe, in Bedford Place.
The man was rushed to Southampton General Hospital following the incident on Saturday night.
Police have now launched a manhunt to find his attacker and have appealed for anyone who was in the bar between 11pm and midnight to come forward.
Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw two men fighting near the pool table and the subsequent glassing incident.
Detective Sergeant Dave Brunsden said: “This was a very serious incident which caused substantial injury to the victim.
“Witness information is vital to our enquiry and I would urge anyone who saw what happened to come forward to help us.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Brunsden at Southampton Central police station on 101.

I love how this is breaking news which suggests it's just happened.

You should get more information on these plants. They do NOT just grow by the sea. Without repetitive "pruning by fire", the circle of life would be lost. Fynbos is a fire-dependent vegetation that needs to burn around every 15 years to stimulate new growth and ensure that plant and animal communities remain healthy. However, because of the proximity of houses to the TMNP, often fires that would be beneficial to the vegetation are extinguished because of the threat to human settlement. If fynbos does not burn in about 20 - 30 years it will become moribund which could result in the extinction of some species

Pubs, clubs, bars should be forced to have decent cctv...taxi's were forced to have cctv so why not the pubs? make it part of their licence
I know that there is cctv in the pub though and all around that area, if they don't have decent picture of them from the cameras then it is quite frankly disgusting as incidents like this are always possible around bedford place as it is packed with bars. It's probably a case of we won't get a picture till 2 months down the line after the incident as they always seem to do for some strange reason by which time it isn't as fresh in peoples mind.

I really love how The Echo don't censor the word 'shithole' - genuinely. They must realise it is used so frequently in reference to bars and clubs they feature in both normal articles and their pub reviews that if they did censor it they'd never get any comments...
