A WASTE management specialist near Winchester is hoping to boost several good causes in the area to the tune of £3,500.

John Gosling, operations director at the TJ Group in Wickham, is on target to raise the cash for the Rainbow Centre in Fareham, which supports children with cerebral palsy and adults with various disabilities, through marathon running.

In March Mr Gosling ran the Reading Half Marathon and is now on track for the London Marathon on April 21.

He said: “TJ is very much part of the community in and around where we are based, and these are just some of the ways we can make a positive difference to young and old who require a helping hand.”

The TJ Group is also helping the Wickham Festival this year and will be transporting kegs of beer to the site for free.

The firm will donate a keg to raise money for Rowans Hospice, the Hampshire charity supporting people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
