MEMBERS of a Winchester family have appeared in court on allegations of causing suffering and poor care to four pets.
Eric Newton and Karen Newton, of Winnall Manor Road, Winnall, and Stacey Newton, of North Road, Kings Worthy, each denied 11 allegations when they appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court last Thursday. (April 25)
All deny causing unnecessary suffering to Casper, a grey and white kitten aged six week,s by failing to provide veterinary care. They all face similar allegations for Bailey, a tabby and white cat aged between 12-18 months; Bear, a 12-month old Rottweiler cross; and Scooby an eight-year-old Labrador.
All three also deny failing to socialise Bear with other dogs, making him extremely aggressive.
The case was adjourned for trial at Aldershot Magistrates Court on July 11.
