FAREHAM MP Mark Hoban has selected the Rainbow Centre's charity Christmas card as his official festive greeting.

The Conservative MP chose the design after youngsters held a competition at the Fareham-based charity, which helps children with cerebral palsy, to design a card that celebrates the season.

Six-year-old Jacob Hammond from Winchester won the contest, which was judged by television news readers Sally Taylor and Fred Dinenage, with his picture of Santa delivering presents on a sleigh through a forest of Christmas trees.

Mr Hoban met the youngster at the Rainbow Centre and congratulated Jacob on his winning design.

"Jacob's design is delightful and I am pleased to be both raising awareness of this wonderful charity's work and assisting in raising funds for them."

The cards, sponsored by Microturbo at Segensworth, are available for sale at the centre and at the charity's shops in West End and Milton. To order cards ring 01329 289500.
