PATIENTS across Hampshire have been urged to plan ahead for their healthcare over the bank holiday weekends this May.
With a busy time expected for hospitals this weekend and the spring bank holiday weekend of May 25 to May 27, the NHS South Commissioning Support Unit has issued advice for where to get healthcare.
For those with minor injuries, such as stomach upsets or sprains and strains, special walk-in centres are available in Andover, Gosport, Petersfield, Portsmouth and Southampton.
For medical advice that is not a 999 emergency, patients can call the NHS 111 number 24 hours a day.
The group also recommends contacting local pharmacists, who can offer healthcare advice without appointment, saving a visit to the GP or hospital.
