HUNDREDS of people have lined the docks of Southampton to see Prince Michael of Kent sail into the city.
He arrived in style on board Tahilla, one of the boats taking part in the flotilla of Dunkirk Little Ships which sailed into the Eastern Docks at around noon alongside the historic tug, Challenge.
The Royal visitor was in Southampton in his role as honorary admiral of the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships and to officially open the Southampton Maritime Festival.
Organised by the Southampton Heritage Federation (SHF), the two-day festival is the first of its kind in recent history and has brought together many different elements which make up the city's history.
Highlights tomorrow include a flypast by a Lancaster Bomber, one of the most iconic aircraft from the Second World War and the chance for members of the public to step onboard the SS Shieldhall.
