FREE nutrition and exercise classes will be offered to children in Basingstoke and north Hampshire this summer.

Basingstoke Sports Centre is running a 10-week MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutri-tion...Do it!) programme from June 3 to help children aged seven to 13 and their parents to learn about healthy eating and how to keep active.

Those taking part will be given top tips on how to eat more healthily and stay active.

Fun, active games will be organised for the children, while parents learn how to set healthy goals and rewards for their youngsters.

The programme is run by Basingstoke Sports Trust and was developed by Great Ormond Street Hospital.
