FANCY-dress business Fantasy World is expanding with the opening of a new store at Clifton Moor, York.

Owner Justin Heaven has taken a five-year lease on the unit, which will operate alongside his existing premises in Main Street, Fulford.

Fantasy World was launched in 1974 by Justin’s grandparents, Lawrence Arkley and Julia Wood, and Justin has been running the business for 15 years.

He said: “Business is going well so I decided to take the unit at Clifton Moor. It’s a great opportunity and will provide a good display area as well as helping us facilitate the growing online side of the business.

“We ship items all over the world. Only today I have posted some platform boots to Japan. The new unit is far more suited for collections and deliveries and customers as it has a large car park.”

Langleys Solicitors LLP in York acted for Justin on the lease deal at Clifton Moor. Richard Flanagan, of Flanagan James Property Consultants, said Fantasy World was one of six new lettings at Clifton Moor at industrial units at Auster Road, Clifton Moor, also including MITIE Landscapes Limited and UPVC Maintenance Limited.

He said: “These units provide very useful grow-on space for businesses, something which is in short supply in the York area.”
