A MECHANIC has offered his car as a reward to the person who finds his wedding ring after he lost it in a Basingstoke nightclub.

Stevie Malcolm, of Bernstein Road, Brighton Hill, Basingstoke, was out with friends in Wonderland nightclub on Saturday, June 15, when his wife Jasmin noticed his wedding ring was missing.

The 27-year-old said: “We were dancing around and my ring just came off my finger.

“I told the door staff, ran up to the manager, crawled on my hands and knees on the dancefloor and stayed behind afterwards to try to find it.

“I put something up about it on Facebook that went viral, and I had messages from people in Southampton. It means so much to me that I have put my car up as a reward.”

Mr Malcolm, who runs SM Motortech, in Brunswick Place, Cranbourne, said his Subaru Impreza is worth £4,500. He bought the ring at HS Samuel in Basingstoke for £500, before he and his wife were married at St Mary’s Church, in Goat Lane, last year.

The ring is white gold, with a strip of gold in the middle, and bears the inscription ‘Mr & Mrs Malcolm 21/7/12’ on the inside. The date is the couple’s wedding day.

Mr Malcolm added: “I was gutted. My wife and I had an argument about it on the night and I ended up walking home. She still moans about it. It’s not a nice feeling.”
