Stars line up for new season at arts centre
FAREHAM’S Ashcroft Arts Centre will be delighting audiences with an autumn season packed with talent.
Some of the biggest names in comedy are booked to appear. Russell Kane will be visiting on October 2, as will his namesake Russell Howard on December 3.
Lucy Porter will be appearing as part of her Northern Soul tour on November 21. Multi-awardwinning comedian Rob Beckett will also be bringing his trademark grin on September 18.
A diverse selection of music acts will also be there for audiences of all tastes to enjoy.
One of the country’s greatest folk singers, Martin Simpson, will be playing on September 12, while the Emily Portman Trip will appear on September 20.
Ground-breaking sixpiece band Brass Monkey will be celebrating their anniversary with a “best of” tour which they will bring to Fareham on November 22. Established jazz star Jacqui Dankworth will be singing on November 8, and psychedelic band Spike Drivers will be there on October 4.
Quartet St Agnes Foundation will be bringing sparkling renditions of Christmas songs you thought you knew to the Centre on Stars line up for new season at arts centre December 9, while remarkable singer Lisa Knapp will be playing on November 15.
The Ashcroft also has a wide range of theatre on offer. A hilarious Bond spoof will be presented by physical comedian Gavin Robertson on November 14. Hiphop crew Synchronize Attack will be peppering their show with the latest in technology on November 28 and 29.
There’s fun for children too, with interactive show Arthur’s Dreamboat taking place on October 30. Quirky puppet show The Sea Show will also be keeping kids entertained on October 31.
The classic tale of Scrooge by Charles Dickens will be playing on December 22. The season also sees the launch of some exciting new classes for adults and children alike. These include Strictly Fitness, The Great British Craft Club and Crafty Kids.
