THE 'Naked Rambler' has been arrested again - just moments after being released from prison.

Stephen Gough is currently in police custody after breaching an ASBO that bans him from baring all in public, handed to him earlier this week.

The order forbids the 54-year-old naturist activist from exposing his buttocks and genitals in public except for nudist beaches, changing rooms and for medical examinations.

A police spokesman said he was arrested on Romsey Road, Winchester, outside the prison at around 10.45am.

The spokesman said: “Officers met Mr Gough at the prison and offered him some clothes so that he may leave prison without breaching his ASBO. He declined the clothing though and was arrested at 10.45am for breaching his ASBO.”

The former Royal Marine of Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, has received 28 convictions for being nude in public.

He first gained notoriety between 2003 and 2006 when he twice walked naked from John O'Groats to Land's End.

Hampshire Police and Eastleigh Borough Council jointly applied for the order following a stream of complaints.
