THE knife used to kill Stephan Hollow is still missing and police are appealing for the public’s help in finding it and a number of other items.

The 53-year-old, who was known as Steph, died on Monday morning after being stabbed outside his home in Blackdown Close, Buckskin, at around 4.30am.

The knife used in the attack has not been recovered and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have found it.

Detectives are also searching for clothing which is described as a dark coloured sweatshirt with a gold or yellow Nike emblem; dark trousers and dark trainers.

The offender is believed to have travelled on foot from Blackdown Close to Berwyn Close, on to Dorset Crescent and then through fields to Mary Lane in North Waltham.

Anyone who uses these routes or visits countryside between Buckskin and North Waltham is asked to contact police if they find a discarded knife or jumper, or saw anything suspicious on Monday morning.

Detective Inspector Dave Storey, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are conducting many lines of enquiry as our investigation into Stephan’s murder continues, and a key part of this is to locate the knife and a jumper.

“Do you use this route? Have you seen anything discarded? Has anything been put in your bins? If you find anything, please don’t touch it but call the police immediately on 101.”

A 27-year-old man from Basingstoke arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
