Cyclist robbed in Hoglands Park in Southampton
A CYCLIST was spat at and forced to hand over his bike to a gang in a city centre park.
Officers say the victim, 20, was approached by three men in Hoglands Park in Southampton at around 6pm on August 13.
A man told the rider the bike belonged to his friend and told one of the men to get on the bike.
He got on the red and black Carrera Vulcan and rode in the direction of the Debenhams store in Queensway.
There was another exchange of words and one of the men, a black man, spat at the victim before going off with the remaining man towards the department store.
One of the suspects is described as black, with a short afro-style hair cut and a beard, in his early 20s, and around 5ft 11ins.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a red, white and purple chequered long sleeved Lee Cooper shirt.
The other men were white, in their early 20s, and were wearing hooded sweatshirts.
A 22-year-old was arrested and released on police bail.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Knight at Southampton Central police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
