Don’t miss Pooh ‘expotition’ competition
12:40pm Tuesday 27th August 2013 in News
TIME is running out to submit entries to a children’s contest based on one of the nation’s favourite teddy bears.
The Mottisfont Abbey Winnie-the-Pooh “Great Expotition” competition invites youngsters to share their own adventures with their favourite toys.
Children are being asked to draw themselves and their most prized playthings and write down their favourite “expotitions” (expeditions) or what their dream trips would include.
The contest is part of the National Trust site’s summer House at Pooh Corner exhibition in tribute to the lovable bear, which has attracted thousands of visitors of all ages.
It includes illustrations of Pooh and his friends created by E H Shepard plus a Great Expotition trail, where families can take part in nature-led tasks based around the bear’s adventures.
Mottisfont spokeswoman Lily Isherwood said: “We’ve had some terrific entries – extremely colourful and imaginative.
“Dream ‘expotitions’ have included canoeing down huge rivers and going into space, so there’s plenty of children out there with a great sense of adventure!”
See nationaltrust.org.uk/mottisfont to submit your entries before Saturday.
The exhibition runs from 11am-5pm daily and is free upon normal admission. Two days of Pooh-related activities will also take place this weekend.
